One of our java based application was moved from on-premise infrastructure to AWS, we did tests to compare the on-premise performance with AWS, below are the results:
#1 –App AWS – DB On Premise (Best Performance)
#2 -Full On Premise
#3 – App On Premise – DB AWS
#4- Full AWS (Worst Performance)
The tests apparently indicated some bottlenecks with AWS database layer…we did not get a chance to investigate the bottlenecks further..
